Much has been written about inhumane working conditions, environmental irresponsibility and unfair or unethical business practices around the world.

Companies and organizations are increasingly addressing these issues under programs titled corporate social responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Sustainability and others.

For all this corporate investment and effort, most consumers do not know which brands have responsible supply chains and ethical business practices. Consumers want to make the “responsible” choice, yet that decision can be very complex.

Working together, companies who produce products or provide services responsibly may enjoy the benefit of Responsible Brands Initiative recognition as they demonstrate compliance with objective, relevant and transparent compliance requirements. Participation in defining the compliance requirements is only one way that companies can get involved.
